What is the berries’ place of origin?

We mostly use berries from the northern growth area and tend to favour berries of Finnish origin. The northern growth area covers parts of Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Northwest Russia, which are located in the vicinity of the Finnish border. Natural berries throughout the area are identical in their nutritional value. The prevailing place of procurement is determined by availability within this area. The domestic content thus varies according to harvest season.

Why can the products be stored for so long at room temperature?

We use clean high-quality raw ingredients and observe good hygiene and high-quality preparation methods in our production. Our production is FSSC-22000 certified. Rapid heating, the addition of a small quantity of preservative and the use of inert gas ensure the shelf life of the product.
The preservative used is potassium sorbate E202, which effectively prevents growth of yeasts, moulds and bacteria. A similar type of natural preservative is sorbic acid which is found in rowan berries.

How about the inert gas?

This is a mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide, which fills the headspace of the container and thus improves the shelf life of the product.

What is the shelf life?

It is eight months following completion of the product. The product can be stored at room temperature, but storing in a cool place maintains the product’s sensory characteristics. After opening, Berrie can be stored in a refrigerator for about a week.

The protein used for Berrie is clinically tested, hydrolysed protein, which is protein in its most absorbable form (animal origin (bovine)). Specifically, protein of animal origin is the protein that humans are able to utilise best; whey protein is second best, followed by plant-based proteins. In clinical tests over a period of eight to nine weeks, a daily serving of 15 g brought about gain in muscle mass.
This is an excellent source of protein for fitness enthusiasts to enjoy in general or after workouts because it contains not only well-absorbed protein, but also some carbohydrates, which together support recovery.
All in a container of Berrie, you can take your daily berries and protein along with you easily for terrific flavour, but without any added white sugar. Berrie is also milk-free, which is a clear advantage compared to whey beverages.
